I’m just 1 person who loves smoothies. I only have an old blender from the ’70s, not any of those fancy modern appliances, and I don’t love cleaning it, so I don’t make myself smoothies lately. As I don’t have any disposable income with which to buy smoothies for myself, having a smoothie is a rare treat for me rather than part of my after-work routine.
Sometimes I work out in the mornings, sometimes in the evenings. But, lately, I’ve been working out around lunchtime. I wait to eat lunch until after working out and showering so that my stomach isn’t full of food as I’m putting my all into a workout. That means that sometimes I don’t eat lunch until 2pm, which throws off the rest of my day. So I’m trying to get better about choosing workouts I can do quickly and easily. Afterward, a nice shower and lunch are a fantastic reward for having worked hard. I also eat a fiber bar after lunch as a sort of dessert. If I need more in the afternoon, I’ll turn to protein-filled yogurt or a smoothie with protein powder. I love when my sweet treats have some health benefits to them.
